Ascent to Lomnicky peak 2634m

Description

Lomnický peak 2634m is the second highest peak of the High Tatras. On its summit there is a cable car station, an observatory and a café. Lomnický peak is an extremely popular peak because of its accessibility and accessibility even for complete beginners. There are several ascent routes to its summit. The most common and easiest is the route through Emerici’s Lair by a system of chains to the summit. Other options are the Jordan route via Téry’s hut or the Birkenmajer pillar from the Lomnický saddle. However, these require better fitness and more experience. Ascent to Lomnicky peak:

• 4-6 hours ascent by normal route, Birkenmajer and Tatark’s (Gipsy’s) route
• Pyšný6-8 hours ascent along the Jordan route and the ridge of the Proud peak

Elevation and ascent distance:

• from Lomnický saddke to the summit 450m vertical, approx. 4 km
• from Téry’s chut about 650m vertical

Difficulty of ascent:

• Normal ascent is especially suitable for beginners
• Other routes require good fitness and climbing coordination
• Difficulty of ascent by normal is II UIAA
• Tatark’s (Gipsy’s) route and Jordan’s route II-III UIAA
• Birkenmaker’s pillar III-IV UIAA
• The whole ascent is done with a rope

Required equipment:

• high hiking boots (vibram sole)
• backpack
• waterproof clothing for the mountains
• gloves
• hat
• food and drink 1,5 l/person
• spare sweatshirt (polartec or merino)
• magnesium or lump salt against cramps
• list of mandatory equipment

Ascent to Lomnicky peak price includes:

• guiding with a UIAGM mountain guide (the mountain guide has third party insurance and a valid UIAGM membership)
• photos from the exit (with mobile phone)
• rental of mountaineering equipment (helmet, seat or crampons and ice axe in winter)
• A smile on the guide’s face and a pleasant comfort during the ascent 🙂

Season:
